Centre Stage is really all about the wonderful memories that the girls have made while doing what they love to do….DANCE!  We invite everyone at AOD to join Centre Stage, whether you join our performance groups or just want to try your hand at a solo or duo….everyone is welcome!  To all our Centre Stage Graduating Seniors:  we will miss you all so much next year and hope that you will carry all the wonderful memories in your heart forever!

Centre Stage Dance Company Performances 

Centre Stage Dance Company has been developed to provide some of our more serious dancers with competitive and performance opportunities.  The Company is open to all students ages 8 and up.  I am well aware that being part of a company is not for everyone, and therefore I strongly recommend that you read the following carefully in order to make the best decision for you and your child.

Please realize that choosing to join the dance company requires a very big commitment by not only the dancer but their parents as well.  It is also a big financial commitment. Each student will be required to take a classical ballet class, attend an additional rehearsal/choreography class each week and any extra rehearsals, including parade, held on Friday evenings. Attending these classes is mandatory and after the 3^rd unexcused absence, the dancer will be asked to leave the team.  ***New this year:  there will be an actual contract that parents and students will have to sign stating that they are making a commitment to Centre Stage Dance Company and that you understand all the rules and obligations that go along with it.  This will be handed out at the actual audition.

 We will be attending one or two competitions this year and performances at the Thanksgiving Day Parade, National Cherry Blossom Parade and another potential performance at an Iron Pigs Game.  All performances and dates will be listed clearly on the contract handed out at auditions.

 In addition to all the extra hours, there will also be additional costs involved. Some of these costs include competition fees, hotel accommodations, bus fees, costumes and or shoes, dance company suits, private lessons for solos, duos and trios, etc. The girls will have an opportunity to do fundraising, which will hopefully help with some of these costs.

The fee for joining the dance company is $230.00 for the entire year. This is a separate fee from your regular tuition.  Due to rising costs and Centre Stage not making its budget for the past two years, we did have to raise the fee. Therefore, we are allowing the fee to be broken up into two payments, one due in September and the 2^nd in October.  This will include all dance company classes and any and all rehearsals over the next ten months.  If you decide to do a solo, duo or trio at competition, private lessons fees will apply (Please see private lesson memos for fees).  These fees are paid directly to the teacher and are due at the time of the lesson.

Placement Auditions: (this audition is for placement only.  Everyone will make a team!)

Requirements:

Petite Company :  Positive attitude, great stage presence

Junior Company :  Positive attitude, great stage presence, good technique, clean double pirouette, strong leaps, strong arms

Senior Company: Positive attitude, great stage presence, clean double or triple pirouette, solid foundation of fouette turns, excellent leaps, excellent arm control and placement

Elite Company: Positive attitude, great stage presence, clean triple pirouette, clean fouette turns, must be able to do 3 rotations and land cleanly and do them in a turn combination)  excellent leaps including calypso, axle, able to sit in splits, high extensions, excellent arm control and placement,
